Abel, a passionate entrepreneur, established and registered his medium-sized bakery business in 2017, strategically located in the central region of Uganda. The business is actively engaged in the production, packaging, and sale of various baked products made from baking flour, eggs, butter, sugar, and baking powder. Some of these include bread, different types of cakes, buns, daddies, doughnuts, cookies, bagiya, and other snacks.

Our partnership with Abel began in 2020 when he first approached Mango Fund for asset financing to acquire essential bakery equipment. Since then, we have supported him in purchasing commercial ovens and an industrial mixer, significantly enhancing his business operations, improving revenue and creating employment in the area

Over the years, Abel has continuously invested in improving production capacity, ensuring efficiency and consistency in output. However, despite these advancements, one critical challenge remained the bread slicing and packaging process. The existing slicer was small, outdated, and frequently breaking down, causing slicing inconsistencies and extended working hours to meet production demands. Additionally, the lack of an automated packaging system meant that packaging had to be done manually, making the process highly inefficient.

Recognizing the need to optimize operations, Abel once again sought our support in 2024 to acquire an automated Lematic Bakery Slicing and Packaging Machine.

With this investment, Abel was able to streamline the slicing process, improve precision, and enhance overall efficiency in packaging.
