Irene and Emma own a seed multiplication and research company that was established in 2010 and committed to providing quality seeds and services to Uganda farmers. Their business covers the entire grain value chain, handling production, drying, processing, packaging, and marketing of crops like maize, millet, and rice. By aggregating seeds from collection centers in the north and Midwest regions of Uganda.
Since 2020, Mango Fund has so far made four investments to this client that has enabled them to purchase; a grain drying machine, a seed treatment and cleaning machines, a 40-ton truck with a trailer and a commercial seed grain grading machine. These investments have helped transform and grow the business by improving on their operational capacity, improved efficiency, reduce on costs and unreliability related to hiring means of transport and as well their business has created more employment opportunities to mostly the youth and women in the different regions/districts where their operations are conducted.
The business has recorded tremendous significant growth in revenue and profitability by over three times since partnering with Mango Fund in 2020.
