Jacinta’s agro-processing company
Jacinta is a seasoned entrepreneur with over 11 years of experience in the milling industry. Since establishing her business in 2014 in Central Uganda, she has grown it into a reputable Agro-processing enterprise specializing in the sourcing, cleaning, sorting, milling, packaging, and marketing of maize flour and maize bran. To reduce reliance on a single crop, Jacinta also processes and distributes rice, beans, and groundnuts, ensuring a diversified product portfolio that caters to a wide range of customer needs.
Despite these successes, Jacinta faced operational challenges due to the limitations of her aging milling equipment, which had been in use for over 10 years. Frequent breakdowns, low capacity, and inefficiencies in production created bottlenecks, delayed orders, and reduced overall productivity, highlighting the need for upgraded machinery to support growth.
To address this, In April 2025, Jacinta sought support from Mango Fund and successfully secured assistance to acquire a new automated maize milling machine with an enhanced capacity of 8 tons.
This investment will enable her to eliminate production bottlenecks, streamline milling operations, and increase overall efficiency. With the upgraded equipment, Jacinta will be able to meet growing customer demand, improve turnaround times, and strengthen her competitiveness both locally and regionally.
