Founded in 2019 in Wakiso District, Mwanje’s company set out to provide affordable household and hygiene products to Uganda’s growing consumer market. Over the years, the business steadily expanded into the production of paper products, toothbrushes, and food snacks, supplying wholesalers, retailers, supermarkets, and institutional buyers across Kampala and surrounding districts.

Driven by strong market demand and consistent reinvestment, the company strengthened its operations through reliable local and regional supply partnerships, improved production processes, and expanded distribution capacity with a company-owned delivery truck. These investments enabled the business to increase production, create employment opportunities for women and youth, and establish a strong presence in Uganda’s essential consumer goods market.
Despite this steady growth, the toothbrush production line remained constrained by an aging bristle tufting and trimming machine. Frequent mechanical breakdowns disrupted production schedules, caused inconsistent product quality, increased maintenance costs, and limited the company’s ability to meet rising customer demand.

In 2026, Mwanje partnered with Mango Fund to finance the acquisition of a modern automated toothbrush bristle tufting and trimming machine. This investment will:

• Reduce operational inefficiencies and machine downtime
• Increase production capacity to meet growing market demand
