Petronella is a woman entrepreneur who owns a beverage and agro-processing enterprise engaged in the production and marketing of local fruit wine and juice. The company’s beverages are mostly produced from two locally produced banana varieties namely mbidde bananas used in the juice processing and wine processing.

Before acquiring a loan from Mango fund, the entrepreneur faced challenges with transportation of her finished products to the market. In 2021 Petronella approached Mango fund for an asset loan that enabled her purchase a delivery van. The truck has helped her business to easily source the raw materials (bananas) from the small holder farmers who are located deep in the rural areas as well as facilitated the quick and easy distribution of the finished products to the market. 

It has also enabled them to widen the scope of their distribution network to over 10 Districts in Western and South Western Uganda and this has further supported their fast growth. With a second investment made by Mango Fund in 2023, Petronella was able to purchase an immersion water pump and a QS Series 27KW standby generator and these have helped the business to have continuous production throughout the year thus increasing on the volumes produced to meet their ever-growing market base.
